Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Selkirk Comp and the Lord Selkirk School Division provided an exception graduation ceremony for the class of 2020.
Track club hosts Summer Jam
Winnipeg Optimist Athletics track & field coach Wayne McMahon has dedicated the majority of his life to the sport of track & field in Manitoba.
McMahon, who is the unofficial face behind WOA, was the meet director for two track & field meets in Selkirk on Aug. 15 and 20 at the track oval next to the Selkirk Comp.
“The mini meets have worked,” McMahon told the Selkirk Settler Times on the afternoon of Aug. 15.
Bisons head coach welcomes track action
University of Manitoba Bisons track & field team head coach Claude Berube was excited to see track action at the oval in Selkirk on July 28.
“It was good. It was fun,” Berube said.
Track & field back in Selkirk
Track & field athletes returned to Selkirk in July and August.
Athletes and coaches got the green light to compete despite the pandemic that has been impacting people around the globe.
