A fun candle-making workshop where people craft their own soy wax candle with a crackling wood wick, while learning everything from jar preparation to scent load will be hosted at 6 p.m. Nov. 8. Snacks, beverages, and a free drink coupon will be provided from The Village Square

RCAF Band hosting fundraising concert to support Poppy Fund

Join the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Band on November 1, at 7:30 p.m. at Seven Oaks Performing Arts Centre (711 Jefferson Ave), as they present “We Remember: 100 Years of Air Innovation” a musical celebration of 100 years of air innovation in the RCAF! Selections will include staples of the wind band repertoire, wartime favourites, and much more.

Members of the Winnipeg military music community joining the RCAF Band for the evening’s performance include The Warriors and Regimental Band of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, The Royal Canadian Navy Band of His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Chippawa, and the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada.
