White smoke was pour out of the chimney of the Sistine Chapel which signals that a new pope has been elected to lead the Roman Catholic Church. Thousands of people gathered in St. Peter’s square are now awaiting for the new pope to emerge.
Close to an hour later, it became known to the world that Robert Prevost became the first American pope in the history of the Catholic Church and adopted the name Leo XIV.
